Appetite for Awareness: A Gluten-Free Cooking Spree is a fundraiser hosted by the National Foundation for Celiac Awareness (NFCA). This family-friendly event includes plenty of gluten-free food, information and entertainment - all in support of NFCA’s mission to increase diagnoses of gluten-related disorders and improve quality of life for those on a lifelong gluten-free diet.
Here's what you can expect:
One ticket price gets you in the door, with unlimited gluten-free food and drink, an abundance of free samples and a reusable shopping bag.
Adults: $50
Students (age 12+): $25
Children (up to 12 years old): $20
Families (of four): $125
Adults: $75
Students with ID (age 12+): $35
Children (up to 12 years old): $25
Families (of four): $150
Groups of 20 or more will enjoy a reduced rate of $40 per ticket ($10 off). The group coordinator will receive 1 free ticket. To request a group rate, contact Jennifer North at jnorth@celiaccentral.org.
Appetite for Awareness will be held at the newly reopened Historic Strawbridge Building at 8th and Market Streets in Philadelphia.
There is abundant parking in the vicinity of the event venue. The Philadelphia Parking Authority operates a lot at 801 Chestnut Street. The cost is $8. Park America’s lot at 615 Chestnut Street is $10 for the day. Free on-street parking on Sundays is also located throughout Chinatown, just north of the venue. The event location is also located on the PATCO Hi-Speedline, the Market/Frankford SEPTA line and a short walking distance from the Market East SEPTA stop.
New this year, NFCA is hosting a T-Shirt Design Contest for gluten-free fans across the U.S. The winning design will be printed on NFCA t-shirts that will be sold at Appetite for Awareness 2012. Get the details.
