The Division of Gastroenterology and Nutrition
at the Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children is pleased to announce our grand opening of the Nemours Children’s Celiac Center with a kick-off event planned for Saturday, September 16, 2006 from 1-5 p.m. in the 3rd floor Lecture hall of the hospital. The Nemours Children’s Celiac Center is located in Wilmington and serves the pediatric population in Delaware and surrounding states. The staff includes a physician, registered dietitian, and a nurse coordinator with expertise in the diagnosis and management of children with celiac disease.

For this event, we are having three local speakers with extensive experience of celiac disease. The speakers include author Jax Peters Lowell, Alice Bast, founder of the National Foundation for Celiac Awareness (NFCA), and Nancy Falini, a registered dietitian.  Several area vendors will be on site for the children to sample their gluten-free items with a raffle for prizes donated from the vendors held throughout the day.

Directions to the hospital can be found on our website at www.nemours.org.  For further information please call (302)651-4754.
