National Foundation for Celiac Awareness

Message from Alice Bast, Executive Director

Thirteen years ago my life was dramatically altered.  Without any warning, I became a victim of Celiac Disease. It took me 5 years and 22 physicians to discover that  gluten, the protein in wheat, rye and barley was poisoning my body.

The average adult Celiac Victim suffers for 11 years before learning that a gluten-free diet can make them well.  Many doctors don't even test for the disease, even in children.

People need to know what they have.  The number of those afflicted who do not know is staggering.  Research needs to be done, so that we can not only help people manage the disease, but perhaps one day find a cure beyond diet control.

The National Foundation For Celiac Awareness invites you to help raise awareness and funding for Celiac Disease.  Please contact us at 267-625-5505 and offer your support.  We look forward to hearing from you.

Best regards,

Alice Bast
