This week the World Journal of Gastroenterology published a German group's findings on whether the levels of anxiety and depression differ among celiacs on a gluten-free diet versus those without celiac disease. The study also observed individuals with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). The authors found that women experienced greater anxiety than man, and that women with celiac and IBD experienced higher levels of anxiety than those without the diagnoses.
