Patients diagnosed with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) may actually be suffering from celiac disease, a new study has confirmed. Researchers selected 100 patients fulfilling criteria for IBS and screened them for celiac disease. Of the 100, two patients were diagnosed with celiac disease and symptoms were found to improve on a gluten-free diet.
