Do you wish restaurants would have more gluten-free options available on their menus? Do you want to spread awareness of gluten-free diets?
Well now there is something that you as an NFCA volunteer can do to help!
Join the NFCA in supporting the Gluten-Free Resource Education Awareness Training (GREAT) campaign and train your favorite Chef to cook gluten-free food! All you have to do is raise just $150 to fund your favorite chef through the GREAT program.
What is GREAT?
The GREAT program is a comprehensive tool offered by the National Foundation for Celiac Awareness to educate chefs, dietitians, cafeteria workers and other hospitality industry professionals about celiac disease and the gluten-free diet. GREAT addresses the entire spectrum of preparing and serving gluten-free foods by simply looking at ABC. Awareness, Bringing in Supplies and Cross Contamination Caution. The training includes a manual, online lessons and a web-based examination.
How can you raise the $150? Here are just a few ideas for raising the money!
* Host a dinner party and ask each attendee to donate $10
* Bake cookies and ask your coworkers to donate $1 per cookie
* Ask the restaurant you're training to donate 5% of sales for one night
* Hold a gluten-free bake sale
* Ask your friends to donate
* Hold a car wash
* Set-up a lemonade stand
* Ask for donations at support group meetings
* Collect donations at restaurants
* Donate the money yourself
