What's Next?
Celiac and gluten-free awareness has come a long way, but we’re not done yet!
Now that gluten-free is on everyone’s lips, we want to make sure the medical needs associated with celiac disease and gluten intolerance stay part of the discussion.
That means working even more closely with healthcare and foodservice professionals to ensure they’re treating you right.
In 2012, the National Foundation for Celiac Awareness will bring you:
Safer food. Through our industry initiatives and Gluten-Free Resource Education and Awareness Training (GREAT), NFCA will keep educating food manufacturers and restaurants about the risks of cross-contamination and the need for transparency in gluten-free food prep. We’ll expand our GREAT Business Association and help manufacturers bring delicious and nutritious gluten-free options to your table. Through GREAT Kitchens, we’ll prepare restaurants so they can serve you a safe and stress-free meal.

Smarter Docs. You’re sick of misdiagnoses. Of bad advice. Of having to explain to your doctor what he or she should be explaining to you. We know. That’s why we launched CeliacCMECentral.com to teach primary care providers the ins, outs and most up-to-date information about celiac disease and the gluten-free diet. Now, we’re telling them about it any way we can: industry articles, face-to-face chats, and even through community members like you.

Real answers. With all those connections in the medical community, we should make the most of them, right? We’ll continue to go straight to the source and give answers to your questions on Ask the Dietitian and Ask the Pediatric Gastroenterologist. Our celebrated Webinars will address new research and ongoing concerns that you want to know more about – and, as always, they’ll be free.

Important updates. The gluten-free industry is moving fast, and new research is emerging each week. We’ll keep you in the loop with daily posts on our news feeds and blogs, and chat with you about it on Facebook and Twitter. Our monthly e-newsletter will deliver columns, articles, recipes, product reviews and news. We've even joined Pinterest so we can share those delicious food photos in one place.

More fun. It’s easy to feel down when you’re dealing with a health issue, so we’re pepping things up. Celiac Awareness Night at the Phillies is back this summer, and so is Alternative Appetites, our cooking video series starring Dan Kohler from Renegade Kitchen. You can even take our Cooking Challenge and tell us what you think of Dan's recipes.
