In 2003, Alice Bast, founder of the National Foundation for Celiac Awareness (NFCA), set out on a mission: To raise celiac disease awareness, increase diagnoses and improve the quality of life for people on a lifelong gluten-free diet.
Now, ten years later, NFCA and Bast are still as determined as ever. In a Q&A interview with Generocity, a Greater Philadelphia area organization which provides a platform for social good in the area, Bast recaps the decade, including stats and updates on how far the gluten-free community has come.
