Intensive Dietitian Training: Celiac Disease and the Gluten-Free Diet

Nationally renowned Melinda Dennis, MS, RD, LDN is hosting an educational event for registered dietitians, certified clinical nutritionists, clinical students and nutrition service directors focused on celiac disease and the gluten-free diet. The training provides 3.5 CEU credits to RDs and is limited to the first 100 participants to register.

Kimberly Newton, MD, Pediatric Gastroenterologist Rady Childrens Hospital SD, UC San Diego Celiac Center will be a guest lecturer at the event. ​

The main focus of the talk will include:

  • Clinical review on counseling patients with celiac disease
  • Labs, nutritional deficiencies and supplements
  • Nationwide resources
  • Certification and labeling reading
  • Recommended food and supplement companies
  • Case study of celiac disease
  • Group work

When: Sunday, March 9, 2014

Time: 2 p.m to 6:30 p.m.

Cost: $40 for registered dietitians, $35 for students – Receive a $5 discount for enrollment before December 15, 2013.

Registrants will be eligible for a monthly drawing of a $25 Cook’s Tools prize; early entries increase opportunities to win.

Note to RDs: By attending both this event and the Gluten-Free Wellness Retreat, you will be eligible to earn a total of 12.5 CEUs.
