Don’t bank your daily calories for the evening holiday party. That strategy can backfire for two reasons. #1 - You need calories to burn calories. When you go all day without eating, your metabolism slows down and so does your ability to burn calories throughout the day. #2 - When you arrive to the party starving, you're more likely to make poor choices and even more likely to eat more calories at the party than you would have all day. Eat balanced meals throughout the day that include fiber and protein, as these two nutrients play a key role in keeping us feeling full.
