I Cheated on My Gluten-Free Diet

Question:

I cheated and ate something with gluten. I feel fine, but should I tell my parents?

Answer:

I think it's pretty important to tell my parents when I eat gluten. That way, if they notice me feeling sick, or if I have a doctor's appointment and my blood tests come back bad, they know why. Your parents might get mad at you for cheating, but try talking to them about what you ate and why you ate it. There are so many ways to make things like pizza and cake gluten-free and delicious, so maybe you and your parents can start cooking and baking the things that you're craving.
