Meet Emily

Emily is 7 years old and has celiac disease.

Emily eats gluten-free food to stay healthy, but she's not alone. She has a friend who eats gluten-free, too!

How many years have you been gluten-free?

Four years.

What symptoms did you have?

Constipation and tummy pain.

How do you feel now?

I follow the gluten-free diet, but I still have tummy pain sometimes, and I get headaches.

What's the hardest part about being gluten-free?

Seeing people eat yummy things is sometimes hard - especially when it's my sister Marie and my dad.

What's the best part about being gluten-free?

I get to eat yummy [gluten-free] cupcakes and fried chicken.

What's your favorite thing to do?

Playing with my gluten-free and nut allergy friend, Novia.
