Meet Zoe

Zoe is 9 years old and has celiac disease.

9-year-old Zoe is still getting used to her new gluten-free diet. Luckily, we have lots of love and encouragement here at Kids Central!

How long have you been gluten-free?

2 months.

What symptoms did you have?

I had a stomachache all the time and I was always tired.

How do you feel now?

I feel better because I'm not as tired as much. I feel sad because I cannot share food with my friends.

What's the hardest part about being gluten-free?

Making sure my food is not cross-contaminated and explaining to people that I can't eat gluten.

What's the best part about being gluten-free?

The best part is that I get my own food. It makes me feel special.

What's your favorite thing to do?

I like to play hockey and I like to play with my friends.
