GREAT Kitchens Accredited Restaurant “Graffiti” Earns Near Perfect Score in 2016 Zagat Guide to New York City

Graffiti, a gluten-free friendly restaurant owned by NFCA Chef Ambassador Jehangir Mehta, earns a 28/30 in the restaurant magazine Zagat.

Chef Jehangir MehtaThe National Foundation for Celiac Awareness (NFCA) is excited to share big news about our Chef Ambassador Jehangir Mehta! Chef Mehta, owner of the New York City Restaurants Mehtaphor and Graffiti, has earned a top slot in Zagat’s 2016 Guide to New York City Restaurants.

The 2016 guide ranks Graffiti in the top 20 restaurants of New York and gave it an impressive 28/30 rating. Graffiti is accredited through NFCA’s GREAT Kitchens program, meaning the restaurant staff has successfully completed gluten-free cooking training, passed a follow-up exam and changed their procedures and protocols to minimize cross-contact risks so people with celiac disease can eat without fear. Chef Mehta is an NFCA Chef Ambassador who advocates for the GREAT Kitchens program and makes catering to the dietary needs of his customers a top priority.

NFCA will be honoring Chef Mehta at the Second Annual Samuel Gee Society Reception on October 15, 2015, an event held for donors who contribute $1,000 or more to make NFCA’s work possible. The event is recognizing the “firsts” of NFCA and Chef Mehta was named one of five honorees for being our first Chef Ambassador.

Congratulations, Chef Mehta, and thank you for supporting the celiac disease community!
