There are many ways to tell a story. I could tell it as others see it, just some pain then a diagnosis then a diet change then you're good. But we all know that isn't the truth. So I'm gonna tell the real story. I started getting symptoms in first grade. It wasn't too horrible at first but in 4th-5th grade my health declined rapidly and I was knocking on death's door. Finally I was tested for celiac disease. The diagnosis date was one of the worst days of my life. I was only 11. I knew this put me at an increased risk for many dangerous issues. I just cried. Since then, life as a chronically ill teen has not been easy. Pain is my constant companion and my entire body is screwed up. However, I'm fighting this illness, and I have chosen to fight until I win. So for all of the other people out there who live in this constant fear like myself, just remember that life is infinite, but some infinities are shorter than others.
